ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
LUGGAGE TRANSFER
We provide luggage transfer for participants between the start in Český Brod and the finish in Prague.
We transport only securely closed bags, preferably labelled. Plastic bags will not be accepted. Please pack only clothing and items needed for sleeping in the bag intended for transport. Do not put valuables or items unrelated to the sporting event in it.
Please keep your wallet, identification documents, mobile phone and car keys with you!
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
All participants must wear sufficiently warm clothing, taking the current weather forecast into account.
Your clothing must allow you to stop for an extended period in an emergency due to health or other problems without becoming dangerously cold or putting your health or life at risk. We urge all participants to use common sense.
We cannot check everyone individually; however, participants who are inadequately dressed may be excluded from the event.
You must also have a reliable light source, ideally a headlamp, along with a sufficient supply of spare batteries and/or a power bank. In December, the days are short and the nights are long. Expect to walk a substantial part of the route in the dark. As a general guide, sunrise in December is around 7:45 and sunset around 16:04. Exact times vary depending on the date and location.
You should also carry identification documents and your health insurance card, as a matter of course on such a long outing.
Some sections of the route follow public roads. Under applicable traffic regulations, pedestrians must wear reflective elements on roads where required by law in conditions of reduced visibility.
Bring enough cash in Czech koruna to buy refreshments at restaurants and pubs along the route, as well as for a possible early return by train or bus.
Do not forget a fully charged mobile phone and, if possible, a power bank, so that you can call for help or contact the organiser.
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
Paper hiking maps with the route marked, or the route downloaded to your phone, watch or another GPS device.
First-aid kit.
Your own cup for drinks.
In icy conditions, traction aids for footwear.
Choose any additional equipment according to the current weather forecast. If conditions deteriorate, expect mud, snow or ice and adjust your equipment accordingly.
TIME LIMIT
Target finish date: Sunday, 6 December 2026.
Based on our experience from previous editions and other events, we have decided not to put participants under unnecessary pressure. Therefore, we do not impose an exact time limit or intermediate cut-off times along the route.
However, staffed checkpoints and refreshment stations will close according to a schedule based on a minimum average speed of approximately 4 km/h, including breaks. Where possible and circumstances permit, we will try to wait a little longer at some locations.
Participants who miss a staffed checkpoint may continue, but must notify the organiser by phone immediately and remain in contact. This means, among other things, ensuring that their mobile phone is sufficiently charged and carrying a power bank if necessary.
The finish facilities will remain open until Sunday afternoon. Anyone arriving at the finish later must also contact the organiser by phone.
In keeping with its philosophy, Pražská stovka is intended to be completed non-stop. Of course, we expect participants to take breaks for refreshments, and some may also take a short nap along the route.
ROUTE
The exact route will be published during the week before the event. This is intended to prevent participants from training on the course in advance.
The route will pass through beautiful but demanding hilly and rocky terrain, mainly along roads, paths and trails. Each participant will receive a detailed route itinerary at the start. The course is deliberately designed to minimise paved sections as much as possible. However, given that the route runs in the area around the capital, it is impossible to avoid them entirely.
Participants must follow the marked route exactly. If they leave the route or get lost, they must return to the point where they went off course and continue along the prescribed route.
REFRESHMENTS
Refreshments will be available approximately every 15–30 km.
Most refreshment opportunities will be located at chip-timed checkpoints, particularly in pubs and restaurants, in keeping with the tradition of long-distance walking events. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Please make sure you bring enough cash in Czech koruna!
We are also preparing some additional light refreshments. However, do not rely on these being sufficient. Remember to bring enough money to purchase your own food and drinks along the route.
CHIP TIMING
The EVIZI timing system for long-distance walking events will be used.
At check-in, you will receive a contact RFID chip in the form of a key fob. Please attach it to the upper front part of your body, for example to your jacket zip or backpack strap, so that your passage through checkpoints can be recorded easily.
GPS TRACKING
To enhance safety and improve information flow for both spectators and organizers regarding competitor movements, GPS trackers from STOPNI TO s.r.o. will be used in 2026. You will receive the tracker during registration and must return it at the finish line in Prague-Modřany or at any staffed checkpoint. The GPS tracker must be placed in a jacket or trouser pocket, or in an upper pocket of your backpack—NOT at the bottom of the pack beneath other gear. Tampering with the tracker, turning it off, or intentionally attempting to interfere with its signal is strictly prohibited. In the event of loss or failure to return the tracker, the organizer will require compensation of 2,000 CZK per unit. However, GPS trackers do not replace self-service checkpoints; nevertheless, the total number of checkpoints may be reduced. Tracker data may also serve as a basis for imposing minor penalties for missing or failing to register at a checkpoint. GPS tracker logs will be subject to random checks; if the data reveals course-cutting or failure to follow the designated route, the participant may face penalties or disqualification—even retroactively after the event has concluded. The assessment of such situations is entirely at the organizer's discretion. Ultimately, the primary goal is to ensure fair play among participants, not to punish anyone.
CHECKPOINTS
The detailed map showing checkpoint locations, excluding secret checkpoints, will be published on the event website no later than the morning of Friday, 4 December 2026.
Each participant will receive a checkpoint card at check-in. The following types of checkpoints will be located along the route:
Main staffed chip checkpoints.
Self-service checkpoints marked with a coloured marker.
Secret checkpoints located at various points along the route, all staffed.
Participants must record their passage through each checkpoint on their checkpoint card.
Missing a checkpoint or failing to hand in the checkpoint card upon reaching the finish will result in disqualification.
In exceptional cases, the organiser may impose a time penalty of several hours instead of disqualification for a missed checkpoint. The organiser will assess each case individually.
NON-TRANSFERABILITY OF THE CHECKPOINT CARD
Every participant must carry their Pražská stovka checkpoint card at all times and personally record their passage through every checkpoint.
Compliance with this rule will be checked at random along the entire route.
If we discover that someone is recording checkpoints on multiple cards or on another participant’s card, everyone involved will be immediately disqualified and excluded from the entire event without a refund. They will also lose access to refreshment stations and all event facilities.
The only exception applies to children aged 10 and under who are taking part in the accompanying hiking route. Their checkpoint card may be held by a parent or accompanying adult. However, children must still be physically present at every checkpoint.
ADDITIONAL WARNINGS AND PROVISIONS
The event takes place during the hunting season.
For safety reasons, every participant must keep their headlamp switched on throughout the night when outside built-up areas. The light must also remain on during twilight, approximately one hour after dawn and one hour before dusk.
Carry enough spare batteries or another reliable power source to ensure that you have adequate lighting during a possible second section walked at night.
Pražská stovka takes place in all weather conditions. Given the time of year, snow, ice and extremely cold weather may occur along the route.
Do not underestimate the importance of appropriate equipment and sufficiently warm clothing.
All participants take part at their own risk and responsibility. The organiser accepts no liability for personal injury or property damage suffered by participants, except for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Further information can be found in the event’s general rules.
Traffic regulations must be followed on sections of the route that use public roads.
In towns and villages, use pavements wherever possible.
In conditions of reduced visibility, reflective elements must be worn in accordance with applicable traffic regulations.
The route also includes challenging sections running above steep slopes and cliffs. Exercise particular caution in these areas, especially in snow and icy conditions, and pay close attention to safe movement, balance and concentration.
The organiser does not provide transport or evacuation for participants who decide not to continue to the finish due to fatigue or health problems.
However, participants can return using the extensive suburban public transport network, which intersects the route at many points, or by taxi.
By registering for the event, participants confirm that they have read the conditions of participation. Consent to the processing of personal data, its possible publication in the results list, and the taking and use of photographs and audiovisual recordings for promotional purposes are governed by the organiser’s relevant information and terms.
Pražská stovka was established in 1994 as an event for friends who enjoy being active outdoors. Within a few years, it grew into a relatively large event with international participation.
Every year, we strive to gradually improve the services we offer participants, but not at any cost. We want the event to retain its original character.
Pražská stovka is organised by a small group of enthusiasts and volunteers and remains an amateur-run event. Please do not expect the level of professional organisation you may be accustomed to from professional sports agencies.
We warmly welcome your feedback, reviews and constructive criticism. However, please do not expect services or equipment that we have not promised.
On behalf of the organising team, we look forward to welcoming you.
