Where are the finish facilities located?
The finish facilities are located at Professor Švejcar Primary School (ZŠ Profesora Švejcara) in Prague-Modřany (Entrance H). Showers and a gymnasium for overnight stays are available to participants.
How does the overnight accommodation in the finish gymnasium work?
Overnight accommodation in your own sleeping bag is available from Friday, 5 December, at 20:30 (8:30 p.m.) until Sunday, 7 December, at 12:00 noon.
Can I transfer my entry fee to another participant?
Yes, a paid entry fee can be transferred to another person by emailing a request to the organiser (olaf.cihak@dalkovepochody.cz) and providing the new participant's registration details.
How do international participants pay the entry fee?
International participants can pay their entry fee in cash at the registration desk on the day of the event.
When and where will the exact route be published?
The exact Prague Ultratrail route will be published during the week before the event. Each participant will receive a detailed route itinerary at the start. The checkpoint map, excluding secret checkpoints, will be published on the event website no later than the morning of Friday, 4 December 2026.
What equipment is mandatory for Prague Ultratrail?
Every participant must have sufficiently warm clothing appropriate to the current weather forecast, a good-quality headlamp, and enough spare batteries or a power bank. Do not forget your identity documents, health insurance card and a fully charged mobile phone. Reflective elements must be worn in conditions of reduced visibility.
Do I have to complete the route without breaks or sleep?
In keeping with its philosophy, Prague Ultratrail is intended to be completed non-stop, but breaks for refreshments and short periods of sleep are of course permitted. Each participant must plan their own pace and rest periods to complete the route safely and in accordance with the event rules.
What happens if I fail to reach a staffed checkpoint before it closes?
If you miss a staffed checkpoint, you may continue along the route. However, you must immediately notify the organiser by telephone and remain in contact with them. Make sure your mobile phone remains sufficiently charged throughout the event, and bring a power bank if possible.
How do the checkpoints and checkpoint card work?
The route includes staffed chip-timing checkpoints, self-service checkpoints with coloured markers, and secret checkpoints. Each participant receives a checkpoint card during registration and must personally record their passage through each checkpoint. Missing a checkpoint or failing to hand in the card at the finish may result in disqualification.
Can I leave the official route and rejoin it later?
Participants are required to follow the prescribed route precisely. If you get lost or leave the route, you must return to the point where you left it and continue along the official route. Deliberately skipping sections is not permitted.
Where can I get refreshments during the walk?
Refreshments will be available approximately every 15–30 km. Most refreshment points will be in pubs and restaurants near the chip-timing checkpoints, where you can purchase food and drinks. We are also preparing some light refreshments, but do not rely on these as your only source of energy. We recommend carrying sufficient cash in Czech korunas (CZK).
Is luggage transport provided from the start to the finish?
Yes, we provide luggage transport between the start and the finish in Prague. We only transport securely closed and, where possible, clearly labelled luggage. Plastic bags are not accepted. Pack clothing and items needed for overnight stays in your transported luggage. Keep valuables, identity documents, money, your phone and keys with you.
Does Prague Ultratrail take place in bad weather?
Yes, Prague Ultratrail takes place in all weather conditions. In December, be prepared for freezing temperatures, snow, ice, mud and reduced visibility. The route also includes challenging sections above steep drops and rocky cliffs. Do not underestimate the importance of suitable clothing, equipment and your own safety.
